Gordon Red Crow, a local Siksika business owner, is starting up an arcade, pool hall, and kitchen. The kitchen will consist of Asian, pub grub, and powwow food such as burgers, Bannock burgers, fries, etc. He is the owner of the Siksika convenience store and gas bar located by the Siksika Community Centre. This is where the new facility will be. The store opened on July 16th, and although the facility is still under construction, the faculty itself has opened its services to the public.

The new facility has a retro arcade, which consists of a large variety of games such as old fighting, shooter, and racing games that you could play. Also, there is a pool hall with three pool tables for both casual and competitive pool players. The hours of operation go from Monday to Saturday from 10:00AM – 8:00PM for the kitchen and 10:00AM – 11:00PM for the arcade and pool hall.

One of Red Crow’s main goals was to open a place where youth could spend their time playing retro games and have a place to hang out. Red Crow also exclaimed that the pool hall is something that he wanted to open, as there are a lot of local pool players who play in various leagues, wanting this to be a place for competitive players to come and practice or even have small tournaments.

“I know that there are a lot of competitive pool players in the Nation; I wanted to have the pool hall included so that they may utilize it to practice and maybe even have small tournaments,” said Red Crow in an interview.

Red Crow is completing multiple certificates and degrees, having been in school from 2005 to 2013 for I.T. and finishing in five different areas, which include graphic design, web development, window server network admin, and database admin. Recently, he has been at NAIT, where he completed his business management, and now that he has completed it, he is applying to open his business. This is very good for the community as this business is utilized and run by a Nation member. It will also be a very good place for youth, adults, and families to come and get some food, play some retro games, and pool.
