On June 19, Chief Old Sun School Elementary celebrated its annual Grade 6 Moving Forward Ceremony, recognizing the achievements of students as they completed their elementary school journey and prepared for the next chapter of their education.
The ceremony began with a Grand Entry led by the Natosa’pi Drummers, welcoming the graduating students, the Chief Old Sun School Student Chief and Council, and the Miss Chief Old Sun School Princess.
Opening remarks were delivered by the school’s princess, Heavenly Bouma, and Student Chief Zace Calf Robe, who welcomed families, friends, staff, and special guests to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class.
Throughout the ceremony, graduates were recognized by school staff, while Nation leaders, the principal, and staff members shared encouraging words as students prepare to enter junior high school. Athletic awards were also presented by Mr. Fred Helfmann, recognizing students for their dedication and achievements throughout the school year.
The ceremony also featured student speeches from Zace Calf Robe, Anze Sitting Eagle, and Keith Red Old Man, who reflected on their elementary school experiences and shared words of gratitude and encouragement with their classmates.
Congratulations to all of this year’s Grade 6 graduates. Your hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments have brought you to this important milestone, and we wish each of you continued success as you begin the next stage of your educational journey.
