Oki Siksika!
The Siksika Health Services Stampede breakfast occurred on July 7, with Nation members gathering at the Deerfoot Sportsplex to enjoy a morning of food, music and mini relay racing.
The day started at 8:00 AM, with guests arriving for a hearty breakfast prepared by the Siksika Fire & Rescue team. SHS staff and leadership assisted, serving up the delicious pancakes, sausages, eggs and hash browns. Miss Siksika Shaedon Wolfchild also took time to visit with guests.
As guests ate, Telly Hunt served as the master of ceremonies, calling for giveaways every half hour. Periodically, Makinly Weasel Child and Brinley Backfat got up behind the mic to engage the crowd with some songs.
The event also featured a photobooth with printed keepsakes and an SHS Community Health Plan booth. SHS also took the chance to show off its new company van, a new addition to its fleet.
The event was organized by Siksika Health Services, with Sandra Sparvier coordinating the day’s breakfast and events.
