Oki Siksika, From November 13 to November 18, Siksika Nation hunters had the honour of participating in a ceremonial harvest in Banff, harvesting a bison buffalo. Since 2017, bison have been steadily reintroduced into a Banff valley between Wapiti and Gable Mountains. With the population growing from 16 to over 130, Parks Canada extended invitations to various Nations to take part in a ceremonial harvest. This meaningful opportunity reflects the deep cultural connection between our people and the buffalo, and the importance of continuing traditional practices for future generations. Hear the stories from the hunters who took part in this powerful and historic experience. #OkiSiksika #SiksikaNation #CeremonialHarvest #Buffalo #CultureAndTradition #SiksikaStrong
