Official boxing card for the first time on Siksika Nation

On February 7, 2026, the Chestermere Boxing Club, in partnership with Siksika Parks and Recreation (Siksika Health Services), hosted an official boxing card for the first time on Siksika Nation land. Held at the Siksika Nation Piiksapi Memorial Arbour, the event welcomed fighters not only from the Chestermere gym but from several other clubs across the region.

In addition to the boxing card, a full Muay Thai card was also featured, showcasing a diverse range of athletes and disciplines. The lineup included many fighters from Siksika Nation—some stepping into the ring for the very first time. Their participation highlighted the growing strength, talent, and dedication within the community.

This historic event offered a powerful glimpse into what Siksika Nation can bring forward in physical, mental, and spiritual expression through martial arts. It stands as a beacon for future athletic events on the Nation, demonstrating the potential for continued growth, empowerment, and community pride.
