Blackfoot Confederacy Conference Landmarking at Nose Hill Park

The 25th annual Blackfoot Confederacy Conference kicked on Monday, Sept. 21. Siksika Nation hosts this year’s conference, welcoming members from the Kainai, Piikani and the Amskapi Piikani Nations. Throughout the gathering, attendees can take part in elder storytelling, panel discussions, film screenings, and conversations that celebrate and strengthen Blackfoot culture, history, and connections.

To mark the start of the conference, Chief Samuel Crowfoot, alongside Siksika Nation members and conference participants, took part in a landmarking ceremony at the Medicine Wheel viewpoint in Nose Hill Park, recognizing the enduring presence and history of the Blackfoot people on the land.
