Elder Ruth Broad Scalplock’s 50th Year Celebration of Sobriety

Elder Ruth Scalplock giving words of encouragement after receiving her stand up headress

Elder Ruth Broad Scalplock’s 50th Year Celebration of Sobriety. It was an event that took place on May 26th where Ruth was transferred a stand-up headdress, one of the highest honours our leaders can receive. She was supported by many of her family and friends who were in attendance, as well as the Mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondeck.

This was a special event celebrating sobriety, and honouring Ruth’s achievements and work in the community. This was very good for the Nation, as it brought everyone together to promote sobriety, and showed the youth and community members the importance of honouring and supporting the achievements of our Nation members. Congratulations Ruth!
