🌱 Siksika Seedling Giveaway – June 18th 🌱

On June 18th, the spirit of connection and growth was in full bloom at the Deerfoot Sportsplex, where community members gathered for the Siksika Seedling Giveaway. The event was a beautiful reminder of our deep relationship with the land and our shared responsibility to nurture it.

Dozens of community members stopped by to pick up Mountain Ash, Silver Buffalo, and Wild Raspberry seedlings — native plants that hold both cultural and ecological significance. With every seedling taken home, a new story begins — one rooted in renewal, sustainability, and care for future generations. 🌿

This event would not have been possible without the incredible support of Project Forest. A heartfelt thanks goes out to Mike, Norine, Amber, Alex, and Lindsey for their commitment to rewilding and Indigenous-led land stewardship. We also want to extend deep gratitude to Dale Springchief and all those who helped bring this day to life — your hard work and passion for the land are truly appreciated. ❤️

Stay tuned for Shilo Clark’s upcoming article, which will offer a deeper look into the day’s impact, and the broader vision of land restoration and reconnection that events like this support. 🌎✊
