Siksika Media
Siksika Media is a department of the Siksika Nation Tribal Administration, dedicated to sharing the voices, stories, and culture of the Siksika Nation. Established over 25 years ago, Siksika Media began with a monthly newsletter and the launch of a low-power 10-watt radio station, both created to inform and connect the community.
Today, those early efforts have grown into two key platforms: Aitsiniki Magazine and CFXX 104.7 FM. Together, they continue to serve the Siksika Nation by delivering news, events, programs, and cultural content—proudly promoting and preserving the Siksika (Blackfoot) language and Siksika culture for current and future generations.
Aitsiniki is the Blackfoot word to describe someone telling a story.

A Voice for the Siksika Nation
Aitsiniki Magazine is a monthly publication produced by Siksika Media, dedicated to sharing the stories, voices, and perspectives of the Siksika Nation. Each 24-page issue features community news, cultural insights, interviews, and event coverage—both in print and online at Aitsinki.com.
With 12 issues published annually and additional digital content available year-round, Aitsiniki serves as an essential resource for readers within the Siksika Nation, the Blackfoot Confederacy, Treaty 7 Nations, and beyond.

CFXX 104.7 FM
CFXX 104.7 FM is Siksika Nation’s community radio station, broadcasting a vibrant mix of pop, rock, country, and powwow music. Listen live here.
Owned and operated by the Nation for over 25 years, the station reaches more than 4,500+ Siksika Nation members and residents locally, with an even broader audience through our online streaming platform.
As one of the longest-running communication platforms within the Nation, CFXX 104.7 FM plays a vital role in keeping the community informed on local news, events, and initiatives. The station also celebrates and promotes Siksika talent along with Indigenous musicians and artists from across North America.
About Siksika Nation
Siksika Nation is home to a population of over 7,800 members and is located approximately one hour east of Calgary, just three kilometres south of the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway #1). The Siksika Nation Tribal Administration and business district are situated near the Town of Gleichen, Alberta.
The word “Siksika” means “Blackfoot” in the Siksika language, which is an essential part of the Nation’s identity and cultural heritage. Siksika (Blackfoot) is still spoken and actively preserved through community efforts, education, and media.
Siksika Nation is a proud member of the Siksikaitsitapi – Blackfoot Confederacy, which includes:
